What Makes a House a Home

Every house has its similarities, four walls, electricity, and rooms. But the one thing that makes every house special is the people that live inside. My house is where I’ve grown up, where I was raised, and where I keep all my memories that I’ve held onto so tight. A house is not just a building, its not some random place with four walls. It’s where people live, make memories, and grow. A house is what protects us and hides us from storms, the cold, and the heat. It’s also unfortunately something that not everyone has. There are so many people who either struggle just to afford a small home for their family and others who can’t afford one at all. I want to change that, everyone deserves someplace to feel safe, to feel sheltered, to feel protected, and to feel loved. Even if I don’t win first prize or even come close to being runner up, I know that by writing these words I am making a difference. I know I’m helping someone, somewhere, whom I don’t know, to find a safe affordable home environment for them and their family. I don’t care for winning prizes, I just want to make a difference, and shine a light on this world.
