What Makes a House a Home

My teacher asked my class “what makes a house a home?” I first thought that a house and a home were the same thing just that a house is where your friend lives and a home is where you live. But then I really thought about it and realized it’s the `memories and the people living with you and by you that really make it a home. For example, when you move into a new house you don’t feel right at home yet, you have to decorate and spend time there with the people you love. It’s somewhere where you can go and feel safe from the world around you. And you know that if you fall there is going to be people there to pick you back up. But you also shouldn’t be scared of outside your house, you should feel safe and welcomed and maybe even feel like a part of your neighbor’s family. Your home has been there in best times and the worst. For so many people home is different for them it could even be more then one place, but this is what home means to me. And whether you live in a big mansion or a trailer home or anything in between, its still your home where you should feel safe but yet free.
