Home, Together

Even if I do not wake up To the smell of fresh pancakes With the syrup and the butter Right on top Then mom opens the window And we listen to songs the birds chirp In the cool, cool breeze I know my home is anywhere As long as I’m with my family Even if I do not see The fresh apples in the apple tree Or maybe the feel of my warm cup As I sip my hot cup of tea We are all like snails And I know That as long as we are together We carry our homes On our backs When we love and care Together I do not care Whether I have A mansion, a shack, a hole As long as we are together I wouldn't feel the cold
