What Home Means To Me

Dear Habitat For Humanity: I live with my parents and my older brother Brennan. My older brother and sister live in other cities in Ontario. My parents give me rules and help me with things I need help with and take me to do fun things on weekends. They make sure I have shelter, food, and a safe place to live. Both of my parents work full time jobs to provide for my family. My dad works an extra part time job to save up for things we want to have as a family. My grandma and grandpa Vollick and my nana and poppa Greenwood both live in my hometown so I am lucky enough to have them close by and see them lots. I have four pets; a dog Molly, a cat Mia, a kitten Mavis, and a bearded dragon Timmy. I have lots of good memories with my family. I like all of the holidays when we can all be together like birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Canada Day, & Labour Day Weekend right before school starts for the year again. I have been on some really cool trips with my family including Florida, Jamaica, and Niagara Falls. I also have a lot of movie nights with my family at Cineplex theaters and usually have popcorn with extra butter, treats and pop and movie nights at home that are treat nights with my moms famous 3 layer nacho dip and my favorite popcorn with dill pickle flavoring. My most favorite thing about my family is I can talk to them when I am feeling down or feeling happy about something without judgement which makes me feel secure and safe. Home is an important part of my life because it’s where I grow and learn the most and feel the safest. I love my family and everything that comes with it. Everyone should be able to have a life like mine so they feel happy and safe too.
