The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home What is home? In the dictionary, it says “home is a place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household”. However, in my understanding, home is where my parents live; home is where I grow up; home is the place where I feel safe. Not elsewhere is home, home is where my parents are. Home is the connection between me and my parents. A house cannot be a home if there is only me without my parents. I can move from one house to another, but I only have one home. My parents create the home for me, and it is full of love. My parents told me what’s important in my life and how I am expected to behave. In other words, my parents are my home. Also, I believe that home is a place where I grow up and be loved. I experience happiness and sadness in my home. Home record all my success and failure. I learn the most important things in my home, for example, I learn how to walk, how to talk and how to communicate with others. I have a lot of memories in my home, such as the shelf of Legos and my paintings on the wall in my room. I spend most of my time in my home. Home is a particular place where I feel safe, warm and comfortable. If I feel fear, I will go home and talk with my family, then I will have the strength to face the problems. I belong to my home, I can share my experiences and memories with my family; it makes me feel belonging to my home. In my home, I can do things that I can not do in other places with my family.
