When I Think of Home

When I remember home
I do not think of a house
When I remember home
I think of something else

I think of those sandy shores
where toads croak and salmon leap
Free they soar and dive again
to waters unknown and deep

As I remember that, I too dive
Deep into my soul
And I find my freedom
Now I am whole

My freedom soars
high to the midday sun
and as I sit with quiet waves
I and home are one

My spirit sits there always
Warmed by the sun
My heart will never leave there
As long as we are one

The sun it sets like dragon’s fire
Ceasing its blinding light
And I return to where I am
A sparkle in my eye
