What Home Means To Me

What home means to me.

I wake up, being greeted by my parents.

I walk to the cupboard, and there is food to eat.

I prepare a healthy breakfast consisting of yogurt and granola.

I walk to my room, and there are books to read.

I grab my favourite one, and sit on my bed and eat.

I finish my meal and wash my dishes.

I walk into the living room, and there are records to listen to.

I put the record on the turntable, and I sit on the couch.

I start to think about how lucky I am to even have a roof over my head.

My dad and I get ready to go to the grocery store.

I go to my room, and there are clothes to wear.

I put on my favourite outfit and walk to the washroom.

There is toothpaste to use.

I brush my teeth and head back to my room.

There is make-up to use.

I put on some concealer, blush, and mascara.

I go to the front door, and there are coats to wear.

I get my coat on, and I go outside with my dad.
There are cars to drive in.

I go into the car and sit down.

I think about how lucky I am to have clothes to wear.

We arrive at the grocery store, and we have money to spend.

We get all of our groceries and head home.

We arrive home and I start to get thirsty.

I go to the kitchen and there is clean water to drink.

I help unpack the groceries.

There is a fridge to keep our food cold.

It is time for lunch.

My dad heats up leftover spaghetti from last night.

I eat every last bit of spaghetti on my plate.

There is a TV downstairs to watch.

I think about how lucky I am to even have a TV.

I start to play “Just Dance” on my PS4, and I have some moves!

After about an hour of that, I ask my dad if I can use his computer.

He says yes, and I start to record a video.

I edit the video together and export it onto my hard drive.

I start to play one of my favourite games called Roblox.

And I accidentally played it for two hours! Oops!

It’s time for dinner! My dad is making Pea soup and homemade bread.

My stepmom just got home from the gym.

We eat in the dining room. The soup is delicious!

I think about how lucky I am to have warm food in front of me.

We go downstairs and watch an episode of our favourite show.

I get all cozy in my fuzzy blanket and hug my stuffed animal.

We finish the episode and I go get ready for bed.

I go to bed, my parents say goodnight, and I start to read a book.

I read for about 30 minutes, and then I get all cozy and go to sleep.
