What Home Means To Me

Home,
Past, Present, Future.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow,
Time passes, rivers flow, people will grow.
One by one, we find our home.
Where we live, where we sleep
Where we play, where we cry.

We will live, we will prosper
We will find our place, where we belong, only to call that home.
We will be joyous and happy,
so we will grow, we will leave
Only to find our home

Open the doors, respect your home,
Know who once lived there.
Hear the river flow and remember the Metis, Inuit and all the others
Their land handed to us, let us keep it and prosper it,
enjoy it and use it, play and sing.

Remember the fields, forests and lakes,
The flowers, trees and fish
The rituals, trading and the games,
We must cherish and remember these,
Knowing that we are here because of them.

Home is hope and family,
Joyous and good times,
Friends and animals
Games and many toys,
We will all relate and play
Cry and laugh and play all night

This is home and joyous delight
Where we live, where we sleep
Where we play, where we cry.

This, is the meaning of home.
