What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me
By: Olivia Morrissey

To me, home is a place where you feel appreciated and loved for who you are. Home doesn’t have to be your house, home could be your school, a relatives house, or even a friends house. Home is where you feel safe. It is a place built off of laughter and special memories shared with the people you love and care about. Home is where you can be yourself without worrying about who’s watching.
Sadly, some people are unfortunate and do not have a place to call home. Other people have homes, but choose to deny the fact that home is where they belong because they don’t feel safe there. It’s sad, but very true for some children and young adults around the world.
Some people must leave their homes and move to another country, imagine that’s you. Imagine how hard it would be to leave the place you call home. I feel a lot of sympathy for those people.
I think that everybody deserves to live in a comfortable and warm household. Home is where we all belong. I’m lucky to feel that I belong in my home all the time.
