What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me
I’m talking about the meaning of home,
It’s a thing that you can call your own.
Because a house to me is an abandoned old shack,
But at home you can just lie down on your back.
That feeling that you know it’s yours,
The second that you walk through those doors.
Yours may be quiet, in mine it’s quite loud,
Yours may have people, in mine there’s no crowd.
My dad, my mom, my brother, and me,
Our cats, Shelbs and Rebs, and our dog Daisy.
We don’t always get along,
But we try, don’t get me wrong.
At home we feel nice and safe,
My home to me is my happy place.
Sad or mad, to my room I come,
But I’m grateful because I know there’s some,
Who are not lucky enough to own
That awesome place that we all call home.
