What home can feel
Home is a place I can go and count on my loving family to welcome me with open arms,
To fill my stomach when I’m hungry,
And to rest when I need rest.
Home makes me feel cheery and sometimes even thrilled,
Or glum and blue,
home can make me sometimes very quite or even silent,
But what really aches my heart is that some children and adults don’t even have a home to share all these feelings with,
Or to rest,
to be fed in,
To only be welcomed by the cold cement floor.
But when I think of that, I remember there’s some truly great people out there that are giving the opportunity to let those people truly say:
“There’s no place like home”.
