What a Home Means to Me

A home can take form of a house
Or it can take form of an apartment
But I believe that
A home is where your heart is
When l am in bed
Before I go to sleep
I think about the people
Who are in need
I think about my home
My house, my food, and my bed
My home is my family
With them I belong
Without them I would not be strong
A home can be a place where you make dreams
And they become true
A home is a place where you
Can be you
A home is a place you are reunited
With old friends and family
Where you can learn new things about each other
And live your life happily
A home is a place to keep you safe
And where you are respected
A home is a place where you are accepted
A home is a place where you will not be
Neglected
A home is a place where you share your thoughts
And your dreams
And when you shine bright like a beam
But when you are down,
The people around you turn your frown
Upside down
A home is a place where you can
Grow like a flower
A home is a place where love and kindness
Rains down like a shower
A place to be free and as true as can be
That is what a home, means to ME!
