The meaning of home

What home means to me is a lot of different things. The most important thing about home is family, because they are always there for me when I’m sad, to make me feel happy. It’s someone to have adventures with, even if it is just in your backyard finding worms, or staring at the clouds and saying what shapes you see. If there is a thunderstorm, someone gives me a big hug and then you’re not scared anymore. What home is to me is healthy, physically and mentally. Home is where I feel safe to be myself, not to worry every time when I spill my milk that I will get yelled at. I think I’m pretty lucky. A really important thing is I’m loved and cared for. If I’m sick I know I will get proper treatment, and some people will not. Home is a place where there is food on the table and I do not go to bed hungry. Home is also a place where I’m helped and supported to never give up. Home is a place where I matter, where I am loved, protected, and listened to. I would never give that up for the world and everyone deserves to have a home.
