The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home

What does the meaning of home mean to me? If I think about it, home means more than a building or a house. Home means mental and physical safety. Home means having fun and funny memories. Home means a safe place to make mistakes. But most importantly a loving family that supports and encourages you.

Home is where all the fun and funny memories come from. It’s where it starts, like the time where I tried to drink water but instead I spilled it. Or the time where I ran and I slipped on a banana peel that I threw down. I even remember when I fell down a chair. I felt hilarious, funny, and I giggled whenever I thought of my memories. Funny memories can build me up when I am feeling down. Memories I create can be stored in my home and home is full of amazing memories.

Home also means being safe mentaly and physically. When I am feeling physically unsafe outside I can come in my home and feel safe. When I am stressed and I come home and feel mentaly safe. Whenever I am tired I can come home and feel safe. When I am hurt I can come home and feel safe. I can feel relaxed, safe, and feel like I can do something without stress, being hurt or other things that can hurt me. If I wasn’t safe at home then I wouldn’t even call it home.

Home is a safe place to make mistakes. Making mistakes is the best way to learn. When I made a mistake, I didn’t get hurt because home is a safe place to make mistakes. For every mistake I made at home I learn from them, and if you were forced to do everything right then it would be unbearable to always do. If I was forced to do everything right then I wouldn’t learn anything, since I have to do everything right and I couldn’t make mistakes. I would feel like making a mistake is a bad thing. I would feel sad, and home will feel unfun for me. Home is safe to make mistakes, but if I weren’t then that isn’t home to me.

The most important reason why I call where I live home, is a loving family that supports and encourages you. If I am feeling like I don’t want to do anything anymore then my family can encourage me to do what I want to do. Family always supports me what I want to do in life, and they always do because home brings everyone together to support and encourage together.

Home is more than one thing. The meaning of home to me is safety. Home is where all memories are stored or created. Home is also a safe place to make mistakes, but most importantly a loving family that supports and encourages you. These are reasons why I call where I live home.
