The Meaning of Home
There is a house at the end of a drive.
Inside lives a frantic family of five.
Along with two pets that bark and meow,
At least, that’s what I have for now.
I know not all people are as fortunate as me.
A warm, safe place is what they need.
A place to be happy, a place to be mad,
Knowing not everyone has this, makes me sad.
If we could just be more kind to each other,
Take care of the poor, like a mother.
If we could just treat each other kindly, one step at a time,
We could give back Mother Earth her shine.
It’s so sad that not everyone’s as fortunate as me.
People are out in the cold, while I’m watching TV.
I did this for the fun, not for a prize,
I did it to change lives.
