The Meaning of Home

A home isn’t just a roof over our heads, walls surrounding us, or food to eat, it’s so much more than that. Yes, that’s all important, but replaceable. What a home provides, cannot be replaced.
A home is a safe space, a smile, a laugh. A home is protection and love. A home holds our memories and makes some new, no matter how sweet or sour. It’s filled with our needs and desires. It keeps us all close to our families, it keeps our hearts warm and kind.
A home is the peaceful part of my mind I can go to for me to escape reality. A home is where I feel wanted and loved. A home is my personal perfection, although others may not find it perfect at all.
My home is full of cringy videos of me dancing when I was younger. My home is all the pictures of my happiest memories. My home is the gifts I thought I lost but has been under my bed the whole time. My home is my favourite musicals all in one place. My home is everything I ever wanted.
My home is my family, my parents, siblings, and pets. My home is watching my niece grow up. My home is making sure I don’t drift away from those who are close and dear to me in the giant ocean of life. My home keeps me sane, along with everyone I care about.
A home is what we all need, even though not all have one. A home is something different for every person on this earth. You may not have found what I said all that appealing, but that’s okay. The only thing that matters is that I’m happy with my home, and I wouldn’t give it for the world.
