Sweet Home

I used to have a sister named Kelly. She was born a few months before she was supposed to be. When she was born she was very ill. She had to stay in the hospital for a long time. She was always hooked up to machines.
The doctors said that they thought she would not be able to make it. They said she might be able to live one more year but they were doubtful. They said that if she was able to live she would always be hooked up to cords and wires and that my parents would not get to hold her. so my mom and my dad decided to take her home. A few months later she died.
There are kids all over the world that are like Kelly. who have illnesses like tuberculosis and pneumonia that they can not get treatment or help they need. places like headstrong and Habitat for Humanity help those people get the help and support they need. Something that I think is very sad is that in lots of places there are no hospitals and the people who are often sick die.
Sometimes one or two or three people in every family die. One thing that is similar between me and my mom is that my mom and I have both had pneumonia. I got mine when I was 7. I was in the hospital for a long time. but I got better.
My mom got hers when she was 18. I live in Rycroft. It is a little area in the corner of a Sexsmith. There are 8 people in my family. We have a dog, a cat. They are really friendly.
My favorite thing to do at home is to sit on the couch and read a book. My 4 favorite things to do are baking, reading and art. I like to play outside and make forts. Sometimes in the winter, my dad makes an ice rink. It’s really fun. I like to skate on it.
