I was in my room, in Israel, playing with my brother and my mom came into the room and told me we would soon be flying to Canada. She said we were moving to Canada. When she told me I was nine years old.
At first I didn’t really want to fly to Canada because I didn’t want to leave my house and my friends. I didn’t want to leave my home.
As my mom realized I didn’t want to fly to Canada she told me that in Canada I can make new friends. She also told me that there is snow and all sorts of things that I would have fun playing with my new friend’s. After hearing all this, I wanted to fly to Canada.
When we arrived in Canada I met new friends at my new school. I played with them in the snow, we played soccer and we had play dates. Then I realized that not only at home you can have fun and not only at home you can make friends. Slowly, slowly Winnipeg feels more like home.
