My Home

To Lose Your Home

To lose your home,
Would be to lose your body,
That protects your soul.
Your home is the one that keeps you warm,
And will protect you from a storm.
Without it, it’s fair to say,
You would be prey.
Through day and night,
Without a home; Life is a fight.
What the home means to me,
Is heavy and nothing light,
And my home, I would like to cite,
It’s my protective walls,
From being homeless and cold,
From the heat, and hard sleet.
To lose your home,
Would be to lose your soul’s guard,
It would simply be so hard.
Let people have a home.
