My Home

Home is my place with the walls painted green,
Were the floors never really gleam,
But they shimmer like diamonds to me.

Though my room isn’t shiny or clean,
It’s a good, nice room
And wonderful to me.

A palace of a house is not important to me,
not big backyards or swinging trees.
What matters most is the people inside.

People mean more than marble halls
And dancing and singing at beautiful balls.

A home is really much more than walls.
