Meaning Of Home

There are a lot of people in Canada who are living in poverty. A lot of them can’t afford houses to live in, and the ones who can are using all of their money to pay the rent for them. I can’t imagine not being able to have a home. After school, I can’t wait to come back home. I would be really sad if I didn’t have a home. That would be awful!

If I didn’t have a home, where would I go after school? Maybe outside Walmart. Maybe outside McDonald’s or KFC. Maybe outside Scotiabank. If I didn’t have a home, my family would be living on the street. We wouldn’t be able to afford groceries and I wouldn’t be able to go to soccer. A lot of people are selfish, so not many people want to help homeless people. But I do have a home! I have a place to go to after school. I feel safe when I am in my home. My home has heating, and I can sleep well at night. I can go to soccer twice a week! I still want people to be less selfish and do things to help homeless people.

It feels amazing to have a home. I feel great to be safe. If I had to choose between a mansion and my home, I would choose my home. I want to help people who don’t have homes, because it probably feels awful. Home really means a lot to me, and I’m thankful that I have one.
