In My Home

In my home, it feels cool and fresh in summer
Like the ice-cold lemonade I love to drink.
In my home, it feels warm and pleasant in winter,
Like the delicious double-chocolate cookies I like to bake.

In my home, it looks like sunshine dancing on walls,
Except for dim shadows in the corners.
In my home, it looks messy, but my family and I aren’t careless-
We just have new ideas lying around everywhere!

In my home, it sometimes sounds quiet, like a still lake at night,
With fish swimming silently on the bottom.
In my home, it sometimes sounds noisy,
With Dad blasting his 90s music from the speaker in the dining room.

In my home, it occasionally smells of baking.
The fresh bread that Mom has just made.
In my home, it occasionally smells of eucalyptus,
From our essential oils diffuser, which I love.

In my home, I know I am loved.
In my home, I know that I am safe.
I am me, in my Home.
