I Couldn’t Imagine

I Couldn’t Imagine
By Maeve

I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be homeless, No food on the table,
No warm bed to sleep in,
Not a roof over your head
When I get home from a long day of school
I can almost taste the stew that my mom is cooking on the stove
In the night I have a warm bed to sleep in
and a roof over my head I say to myself
“I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be homeless, I feel so lucky to have home”
Home is a place where I can
Laugh,
Learn,
Cry,
Home is a safe place
Not just for me but for everyone,
And I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be homeless.
