Grade 6

Home is Where the Heart Is

Home has a strong meaning for me. When you call somewhere home, you really must mean it. To me, home is a safe, accepting and loving environment. In the paragraphs to come, I will be explaining the meaning of home.

When I am at home, I feel safe and protected. Nobody will ever try to harm me. My family will always protect me no matter what. I think that my house is the most secure place I have ever been in. When I hear the word safe, I think of home.

Another important meaning of home is that you are not judged. When I do something that I feel is wrong, my family doesn’t shame me. At home, I can speak to my family and not feel humiliated. I don’t have the constant stress of being perfect, I can be me. Rather than my differences being judged, they define me and make me, me.

The final example is feeling that you belong. I am loved and treated with kindness when I am at home. All my problems just slip away as if they were never there. Home is a place where I feel comforted and respected. I know that my family will always love me, no matter what I do. I am reminded every day that I am worth something. Home is a place where I belong.

In conclusion, I find that my home is one of the safest and most loved places in the world. I am very fortunate to have a home like mine. I wish that more people can feel like I do when I am at home.
