Home – an elder’s perspective
My home. My land. My culture. I see them all rush away like a river. I try to swim to the surface only to find myself at anew place. My eyes scan the clearing to see a giant looming over me. I feel as if it swallows me. And then, I get that familiar feeling of being dragged away. My mind is screaming – “Your home. The trees. The rocks. ALL GONE!” My entire life and all of my work was washed away.
