Home is something we don’t appreciate as much as we should. A house is not
necessarily a home. At home we feel emotions we feel nowhere else. Home is a shield protecting the soul. What home means to me is a place of love and belonging, a community, and safety and comfort.

Home is the place of love and belonging. At home I always feel like I belong
there. My Mother makes me feel like I belong by doing legos and playing her new games on her phone with me. With belonging almost always comes love. Love is the glue that holds the family together.

Home is a community where we construct memories. In my home there is a community where everyone has their part. For example I have to take the garbage out. If we don’t do our part we throw everyone off. In this community we construct memories, good and bad.

Home is a place of safety and comfort. Home is a shield to the soul. At home I
feel comfortable to be myself. For example if I’m doing a presentation I’ll feel more comfortable at home than at school. I feel more comfortable at home because my family won’t judge me. If I mess up I won’t feel embarrassed or judged.

Home is a sacred place where we feel emotions we feel nowhere else. It
protects us from others. There is a community you can’t find anywhere else in the world. We really should appreciate home a lot more. After all, it’s not only a house.
