Home

Home is where my heart is full
In my fuzzy quilt made of wool
My home is where I feel safe unless I invade my big brothers space
Home for me is the tender love from my mother
And neighbours who have become brothers
Home isn’t home without my own warm bed
Home isn’t home without the words “I love you” said

Without chalk drawing on the sidewalk
Road hockey games
And lemonade stands with my friends
I wouldn’t be who I am

Home is where I can be me
The only place I am truly free
This is what home means to me.
