Grade 6

There I am,
Lost in the dark,
Until I see home,
As a tiny mark.

Home is my favourite place.
It’s where my family loves to kiss and embrace.

Home is a place of warmness at night,
It’s also a place of family and sight.

I see running in the halls,
And it’s where there are memories,
In the walls.

It’s a place of laughter,
And crying.
It’s a place of accepting,
And denying.

It’s a place to scream and smile,
It’s the place to go an extra mile.

My dad’s cooking meals,
Mom’s bathing my brother,
I’m writing this poem,
My home,
I’d trade for no other.

Whenever I am sad,
And my feelings are dark,
I think of home,
And I feel a spark!
