When you think of a home you probably think of a house or an apartment. Sorry, but I’m here to tell you that no matter how many floors your house is or how spacious your apartment is, it’s not a home… unless it’s where you feel happy and safe
A home is where you feel safe and secure. It’s where you feel happy, sad, or mad. You’re allowed to be you! A home doesn’t have to be a place. It can also be the people that surround you. It could be your mother’s warm hugs or your dad’s “funny” jokes. Or maybe even playing with your siblings.
“Home is where the heart is” unless you literally leave your heart in your house, it’s another reason why a home is where you feel happy. A house or an apartment can still be your home if it’s where you feel happy, joyful, and loved. It’s wherever you get that happy little feeling and create loving memories.
Sadly, some people do not have that opportunity. They don’t get to feel that happy feeling after a long trip. They don’t get to say “Home, sweet home” like you do. But with donating to Habitat for Humanity maybe that could change. You’ll be giving someone something to look after to after a long day of work or school. EVERYBODY deserves that!
