Home is not just a building. Home is where your family is.
Home is not just a building. Home is where your family is.
You might think that house and home are the same thing. The truth is, the two are very different. A house is a building with four walls that you sleep in, and hang out in, but sometimes some people don’t feel safe or cared for in a house. A home on the other hand is where you create memories with your family, eat family dinners at the dining table, and play with your pet or siblings. In a home you feel safe, loved, and cared for. When you walk in you might smell hot chocolate that my mom made, and the scent fills your nose, or your pet would come running up to you and greet you. You’d feel the carpet brush against your feet as you make your way upstairs. You would see your parents and a smile would spread across your face. Sure all those things can mean home, but home doesn’t have to be the place you sleep in, it could be your school, the gym, where you ride horses or play volleyball. Home is where you feel strong, and confident. But where I think home is, isn’t a building. My house is where my family and I sleep, and I feel those things there too, but I think home is wherever my family is.
