What Home Means to Me
What does home mean to me? Home means many things to different people. But to me, Home is where I feel safe, peace, love, and comfortable. Though my family and I are living in a shelter right now, home still means comfort, care, safety, and being together.
First of all, my mom is a single mother who is making a great effort to take care of us. Right now, she does not have a job, and cannot drive. Which has made life even more challenging. Due to this problem, we were not able to go to school constantly this year. Even though life has been difficult, my mom's love and support make the shelter feel like home.
Secondly, home is special to me because living in a shelter has shown what home truly means. A home is not a building with many rooms. Home is where my mom and family are together. When my mom hugs, talks and tells us everything will be okay, that makes the shelter feel like home. Her love makes us feel safe, even when things are hard.
In addition, Home is not about having a big house or many things. Home is where I feel safe and can be myself. At home, I can play, study, talk and share my feelings with my mom, even while living in a shelter. We laugh, eat meals and pray together and help each other. These moment, make our home full of love and happiness, even if it is not perfect.
Moreover, home is where memories are made. I cherish the small joys we share, such as playing games, talking together, and helping one other. These memories are more important than anything else because they make me feel loved and secure.
Finally, Home gives me a sense of safety and peace. After a long day at school, coming home makes me feel calm and relaxed. It is a place where I can rest and feel protected from the world. No matter where I go, I always know I can return home.
In conclusion, home means family, love, safety, and hope to me. Despite the fact that we do not have a permanent home right now, my family is together. Home is not just a place, it is the love we share.
I sincerely appreciate being given the opportunity to share my ideas with Habitat for Humanity. What home means to me.
