Home Sweet Home

Home is where my heart is and my heart is my family, that has no boundaries. Home is where my family is, it is not just a house; it is the place where I am loved and nothing can beat it, and it is the best place in the world! Home is where I can smell the delightful meals cooking in the oven. When it is time to eat, I put a mat and our meals on the floor. Once I finish that, we sit down and eat our food while we share jokes and stories. Home is where I am thrilled to come and play with my baby sister after school because she makes home even better. My family around me make home more fascinating and wonderful. Every room and space has a story to tell, where we are building memories together. Home is where love and laughter is shared and I feel like I belong because of all the love surrounding me. Home is where I am always grateful because there are people who do not have a home, have to sleep on the floor, and have to beg for food to survive just like I saw a homeless person when I went to Banff. Home is where my family and I are united in everything, no matter what. It is my safe space where I can share my thoughts and feelings and know that I will not be judged. Home is like a giant shield that protects us from the severe weather and all the problems that are happening outside our house. But it does not mean it is all rainbows and butterflies all the time. We have days that feel heavy with emotions and problems but above all, I know we will get through it when I am with my loved ones. I would like to take the time to thank Habitat for Humanity for helping families build a place where one can call home. A place where families can share and experience the things that we all value and enjoy with our loved ones. When I grow up I would like to volunteer my time to such a great cause. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
