Home is where I drop my bag, Kick off my shoes, feel loose, not dragged. It’s where my worries slow right down, A quiet place away from town. Home smells like food at the end of the day, And sounds like laughter drifting my way. Sometimes it’s noisy, sometimes it’s still, But it always feels calm and fits the bill. Home is where my room feels right, Where I read, draw, sleep at night. My bed, my desk, my favorite chair, All the small things waiting there. When school is hard or days feel long, When things go right or sometimes wrong, Home is the place I want to be, Where I feel safe and totally me. Home is not just walls and doors, Or ceilings, windows, or shiny floors. It’s the feeling deep inside, A place my heart will always guide. No matter how far I may roam, Or where I travel on my own, I know one thing will never change— Home is my favorite place to remain.
