How I Feel at Home
When I come home I smell the delicious dinner my mother prepared for me and my family. I smell her homemade macaroni and cheese or goulash. I am surrounded by people who can make me laugh. I feel grateful.
At home I can be loud or quiet, it’s different than when I’m in public. I can be my goofy and silly self, no one will judge. I feel comfortable.
At our dining table we eat but we also play games - games that hold memories like me and my sister making fake words using banana grams and trying to pronounce them, or very competitive Uno games that turned into laughs. I feel happy.
Home is where a bunch of decisions are made. Some good, some bad but all of them are for the benefit of me and my family. I trust that my family will keep me secure. I feel safe.
At home people are excited when they see me. They listen to what I have to say. They prepare fun activities they know I will like. I feel loved.
At home I feel:

Comfortable
