The Meaning of Home
Home means a place to call yours. A place where you're part of a bigger picture and you’re wanted for who you really are. Home is where you find warmth on cold winter nights. Playing board games and challenging your siblings’ video game high score.
Home is more than just four walls, a roof, and a door. It is the memories you make. Laughing joyfully with your family and sitting on the couch watching movies and eating popcorn.
Home feels like being wrapped up in a blanket that just came out of the dryer with a mug of hot chocolate.
When I think of home, I think of warming up after going sledding. I think of baking cookies with my mom and sneaking some cookie dough into my mouth.
Home is a safe place like a warm hug that will wrap you up tight. Home is where you can be crazy, lazy, or silly because anything is possible when you are supported by your family.
Home is a sense of belonging. Home is part of your identity. A place to take refuge from what is outside.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for building homes for people in need so they, too, can know what home means to them!
