Home to Me

Home to me. Home can be a lot of things. not usually inanimate objects. Home can be: chaos, an escape, and family. The smell of a vanilla scented candle. It brings me back to all the wonderful memories from my home/house. When I was only 7, my parents told me we were moving to Canada. I came here with ONE single suitcase filled with clothes and like 5 stuffed animals and that's all. I was excited to go but worried at the same time thinking I wouldn't make friends or something would go wrong. 4 years later this is the place I call home. Canada and British Columbia, and my house! One of my favorite things to do in Kelowna is to go downtown. My favorite thing is to probably go to a restaurant downtown at night and have deep conversations with my family. The sound of Pop Music. The smell of food cooking. Watching people have fun. Just makes me happy. Sometimes I feel like there is a blanket covering me from anything that's unsafe. It's like a warm fire. Home doesn't necessarily mean your house or country you live in. It could be somewhere across the world. Anywhere. Home can be anywhere or anything it could be your favorite place, food or even song! Just whatever that gives you comfort and makes you happy. It's up to you! What does your home feel like?
