Home: A Place of Memories

As I stand outside the door wide open A quite simple home, so simple it seems But so much more lies between these memories. This home of mine is wonderful Blessing from top to bottom So many blessings from above and blessing from below. A home is more than a roof and four walls How stable and safe it may be Families are together and they'll always support me. From the foundation of my house to the top of my house Is where I’ve learned important lessons and how to get along It’s not just the foundational walls that make me feel so safe But it’s my mother’s calm voice that shelters me from the rain. In hard decisions and stormy nights My mother’s bright smile wipes away any fright It’s not just the sun that makes everything so bright but it's the cheer and happiness that I spread in delight. A house is truly special and very unique But it’s the love and care I receive that makes me feel complete Everyone deserves a special home But not everyone has a home you see.. A place they can claim as their own A place of safety, joy and respect If I had a wish I’d wish to bring a home to everyone who needs one.
