The Meaning of Home

If you look up the definition of home on the internet or in a dictionary it might say that it is the house you live in, the city you were born in, or the city you live in now. But home is so much more than just a place. Home can be a feeling, emotion, or even a thought. It can be the happiness you feel when you walk in and smell a fresh, home-cooked meal. It can also be the thought of a warm, cozy place to sleep. Home can even be the feeling of gratitude you get from everything you love most. Our homes provide us with shelter and security. They protect us from cold winter nights and hot summer days. Thinking of home reminds me of playing games with my family, dinner with all of my grandparents, and sleepovers with my friends. Home is a very special and important place where you spend time with the people or things you love most. Home is not one specific thing, so you can’t really put your finger on what it is because the meaning can be different depending on what your home is like or what kind of person you are. But one thing that is always the same is that our homes are great!
