What Home Means To Me

What does home mean for me? It’s not just one thing. It’s many. Home is being able to laugh so hard you can’t breathe, but its also bring able to start crying and thinking you’ll never stop. Most of all, home is knowing whatever you’ll go through, you’ll never be alone. People are there for you. A house is a dead, lifeless structure. An inanimate object. It has potential to become a home, but its not quite there yet. A home is somewhere you create, a reflection of you. A place you grow up, where you can create new memories with your family, and share stories. Somewhere you can randomly start rolling around on the floor, and no one will think its weird. My house has a fireplace that heats the room, but my home has a fireplace that my family reads around in the winter. MY house has a table for eating, but my home has a table that we share stories around, and share our favorite foods. My house has a closet, but my home has a small room where we hang our hopes and dreams. Everyone deserves to have a home like this, somewhere they feel safe and comfortable, and that's why Habitat for Humanity is so incredible. They are working towards a brighter future, because no one should have to choose between paying their rent and buying food for their families. Thank you so much to Habitat for Humanity for working towards this shared goal.
