My Meaning of Home

Home. What is a home? People probably say a roof with four walls. However, that is not the case. A home is a place where I get the most unconditional love and I feel belonging. It is a place where I build my own journey throughout life. Home defines who I am and builds my character. My home is bright and full of colours. First, It is a place to grow, learn, laugh, play, and enjoy my life with my grandparents, parents and brother to the fullest. At home, I can feel free to cook, eat, do anything freely and be comfortable in my pajamas because no one would judge me. It is a nest where I can express my feelings such as sadness, happiness and share all my secrets with my family. My home has an emotional connection, a sense of belonging and not a physical thing. Secondly, my home is where my parents teach, guide me to new things and wipe away all my misery. Whenever I am coming home sad or emotionally hurt, my parents will listen, comfort and give me advice. This shows that home cherishes me every day and stores all the memories in my life. Also, a home might be small in appearance, however, any home can give you the most care and support from difficulty to success. When I have a hard time with my friends, schoolwork and issues in life, my parents help me overcome the challenges and lead me to the right path. Lastly, home is where I grow up with my family. It is a place where I spoke my first word “ Mama” and took the first step in life, where I learned how to walk in the living room. Therefore home is a warm surrounding where I can feel secure, understood, be myself and not alone. As you can see, no matter where you are, what you do every day, you still come back home. Home is your familiarity and it is your comfort zone. A home is where we all belong. A safe place with shelter and loads of love. Everyone deserves a home, no matter poor or rich.
