One tiny word with millions of meanings

“The light is what guides you home, the warmth is what keeps you there” A home is a place where one finds comfort, security, and shelter, where they are surrounded by people who they love and who love them back unconditionally. They share meals, laughter, and life together. Their joys are the same, their sorrows are shared. One will never feel alone and always rely on their family for support and guidance. A hand to hold and a strong feeling that the family will always be there in the darkest time of their life. At home one doesn't need to pretend, they can be themselves. They will never be judged and looked down upon for their shortcomings. For some, homes are just a place where they live. To me, a home is a place built with bricks but is held together by love amongst the family. Whenever I’m at home, I feel secure and relaxed. Being at home takes all my fears away and I feel much more confident in my thoughts. Coming back home after a long tiring day puts me at ease, sitting next to the fireplace in the cold winters reminds me how lucky I am, to have a home to cherish and enjoy every moment of my life. Every minute spent with siblings and parents reminds me that there are people in the world who mean a lot to me and they will always be at my side no matter what the circumstances are. Our home was empty when we first moved in, now, it’s filled with memories of my family, friends, and of me. Home is where my family is, our location may change someday, but the bond of love within our family will always make it our home. I am grateful that I live in this amazing home which is full of colours, feelings, and emotions. It’s a blessing and a treasure to keep and cherish. When I am far from home, I miss the coziness of my bed, the warmth of my blanket, and even the alarm clock which wakes me up every morning. The sunlight pours in from the window of my room. The smell of homemade food, cooked by my mom, the funny jokes told by my dad which always brings a smile to my face, and the sweet laughter of my younger brother. My house is my safe haven and I adore every moment of life when I am here. “Home is wherever you leave everything you love and never question that it will be there when you return.” This quote by Leo Christopher reciprocates the exact feelings that I feel about a home, to care for, to hold, and to cherish for the rest of my life.
