What Home Means to Me

“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned” this is a quote from Maya Angelou. This quote was honestly one of the most meaningful quotes about home I have ever heard for three main reasons. In the following paragraphs, I will describe details about why I feel this way about her quote. Firstly, when I am at home I feel very comfortable and safe inside, cuddling with my dogs, and my family. I am fortunate to live in a safe home and community. Unfortunately, some kids do not have a family or a safe home to live in. When I see people with no home I feel like something should be done about it because having a home is a human right. I deeply hope one day that everyone can have a home. Secondly when I am at home I feel that I am never alone and that my family will always be there for me. I feel very blessed to have sisters that have my back and parents to support me in all that I do. Having your family to support you is truly special, but sadly some people don't have a family to support them. When I am away from home, I think that the ache that I feel is not having my family close by. Finally when I am at home I feel like I am accepted for who I am. I know when I am at home I won't be questioned and my family will love me no matter what. In summary, this quote about home is the most powerful quote about home I have ever heard because of how it makes me feel.
