What Home Means to Me

My home is a light shade of yellow with a dark navy blue door, The walls are creamy yellow with a hard wood floor. In the winter the trees are all bare, But in the summer there are leaves everywhere. In my living room there are board games to play, Every night and all day. In my house there are pictures everywhere, With me, my family and my cousin Claire. My house sounds like my guinea pig squeaking, While the oven’s beeping. In my house it sounds like the dryer tumbling, And the dishwasher rumbling. My house sounds like the wind whistling, As the food is sizzling. In my house it sounds like bird chirping, And my dad working. My home smells like fresh cake, And delicious steak. In my house it smells like cinnamon rolls, And tofu bowls. My house smells like hamburgers and fries, With cupcakes and pies. My house smells like french toast, And a nice good roast. My home tastes like tacos, With some good nachos. It tastes like sweet crepes, And thick pancakes. My house tastes like grilled cheese, And fresh corn and peas. My home tastes like a gingerbread cookie, And a real big turkey. My home feels like a comfy couch, where we can sit around, watch TV and slouch. My home feels like a nice warm bath, where I like to play for an hour and a half. My house feels nice and cozy when I sit by the fire, It dries my hair like a blow dryer. My bed is fluffy like a cloud, My sister only sits there when she's allowed. My home feels like a loving space, And every home should feel like a welcoming place.
