What Home Means to Me

Some people believe life is about money and power. This is where I believe life can go sour. To me, the best life is one with love and the safety of home. This is where I hope to always be able to roam. For me, home is not something you can always see. But where you feel it in your heart, where you can be free. Sure, we all need a place to protect us when bad weather hits. But a true home provides comfort, and is there when you need it. I wish everyone could have this right. A home of their own, without any fight. In a place they could be proud, to stand up so tall, Somewhere that will protect them and embrace them from a fall. There was a time where I thought my house was my forever spot. But I learned that MY home is where I’m with the people I love a lot. Where my bed is cozy and comfy and my stuffies are all there, And I feel safe, and can fall asleep without a care. With the sound of a friendly bark and a wet slobbery kiss, my dog welcomes me home, and I know I’ve been missed. This brings me peace, and this allows me to grow. My home holds all the comforting feelings, like seeing your first rainbow. From a world that's so big, a home is when it’s narrowed down to one place to call your own. No money, no power compares to being at home with your loved ones. —By Adella
