What is my Home?

Two-stories, brick-red, a backyard with a shed. A normal house in the neighborhood, we bought the house for good. We moved in, made memories, it held all our necessaries. At first it was a house, a place for us to live. Slowly it grew on us, starting to give. If you saw our house, it would just be ordinary, plain. Like every other house, every one's the same. But for my family, this house is a home. A place to feel safe and at home. Somewhere you're cared for and respected. Home's the place you can be accepted. A place to eat hot, fresh food, a place where you’re included. A place you sleep all night, where you can play, draw, and write. Where you can speak your thoughts and dreams, where you’ll work in a team. A house is a building, where people stay. But a home can be what you imagine, colorful, bright, any way. Not necessarily where you live, just where you'll feel protected and loved. Maybe where your family is, or where you grew up. No matter race or gender, no matter big or small. Nobody deserves to sleep right outside the mall. We all deserve a warm loving home, not a life outside in the cold. We all should have a safe shelter, and live in our own household. Everyone deserves a home, it's a simple human right. Everybody can make a change, which is why I decided to write. Donate to the homeless, inform others. With everyone's help, we can do this together. Take time out of your day to learn and discover, you could help someone find a home forever. Four letters spell out this word, but it means so much more. Home will be a place that you'll adore.
