My Home Is

Home to me is not the table or the cupboards nor the dishes or the plates. Home to me is my family, every day! I come home on the bus from school, and I see my house standing strong waiting for me. You see, once this house was a mess. My parents and I helped each other a lot to have a charming home and now we stand inside happily. Warm, cozy, and safe. The fire roaring, the dog snoring and I think about how wonderful this place is. I want other people to feel the way I feel. I may be small, and I may still be a child but watch and see if you want to change the future. You must change the present. We take water and food for granted, and we think we will always have it, but there are some people out there, hungry, and thirsty, wishing they had a safe place to live. Think about the next time you say I want this, or I want that and remember there are people who would love to have some of your food or clothes. So, think, and be grateful. A home to me is not the table or the cupboards nor the dishes or the plates. A home to me is where I feel safe and loved. I want people everywhere to feel the same way I do!
