Home is not a house

A home is not a house, it is a feeling, something to cherish. I feel at home with my family and my pets. Sometimes, I think how lucky I am to have a home. When I feel the warmth of my family, I feel at home. We cannot ignore that some people do not have a house and we all deserve one, but you do not need a house to feel at home. Sometimes, I take my home for granted like how my mom cares for me when I am sick, my dad cheers me up when I am sad, my sister and I have fun playing board games together, and my pets are warm and fuzzy to cuddle with. These are small things we often take for granted, but they are special parts of life. In your darkest days, your family will be there for you if you need a shoulder to cry on. If you fall, they will be there to pick you up. Your family will have your back when you need help. Habitat for humanity is doing their part for the community by providing a safe home for people who need a helping hand. We need to do our part, like mowing a neighbours lawn, or volunteer at Habitat for humanity. My home is my family and my community. I could not imagine my life anyway else. I hope my words help people in my community.
