Homes are Important

A few years ago I moved to Canada. I didn’t communicate much because I thought my home was just a house. Then when I got comfortable in my home I felt like I belonged there. I started communicating more and I felt like I was in Scotland all over again. This is why homes are so important because you're safe, you're loved, and you're comfortable. We all shouldn’t take our homes for granted, we should appreciate our homes a lot. It’s like a shelter that doesn’t go down. It’s part of our family. As they say there’s no place like home. It’s a shelter that protects us and we still treat it like trash! This needs to stop! We need to start treating it like our family. We need to see that our homes are important and we should not take them for granted because there are people on the streets that don’t have a home. We need to love our homes and not treat it like a place that’s trash. Home is like a warm blanket, it’s always nice to be home for a reason. It’s because home is the one place you are always protected. Home is a place that will always be something to me. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for letting me understand the meaning of home.
