Meaning of Home
Home.
They say it's a place where you live.
Four walls and a door.
They say it's as sweet as sugar.
Like sunday morning pancakes and laughter,
They frame it as the safest word you will ever know.
But is it always like that?
They don't talk about how walls remember.
How love can sometimes be loud noises.
They don't tell you about the slammed doors.
How the silence can be louder.
And how home isn't always a place you can rest in.
But home isn't also only hard nights
Because home can also be forgiveness and love
The way love wins over temper.
Shared meals,
And how love swallows the hard nights.
When I think of home
I can’t even keep count
Because home isn't always just a location
I found home in many different ways that I can't explain
In friends who care,
In family that comes when you’re in need,
And pets who love you more than you think.
So maybe, home isn't always perfect and isn't always as sweet as sugar
But at the end its still home a precious place where love and laughter stay.
