What Home Means to Me
When the wind is howling, and the rain beats down, home is my shelter.
When I need a hug or a snuggle on the couch, home is where my family is.
When there’s nowhere else to go, and I’m lost in confusion, home is my retreat.
Where the laughter spills out and the relatives gather, home is my foundation.
But what if…
What if you don’t know where your next meal will be cooked?
What if you don’t know what bed you will sleep in, or if you will even sleep in a bed?
What if you don’t know if your family will stay together in one place?
What if you’ve lost everything?
What if you’ve never had anything?
Most can’t imagine a world without home…
But for many it is reality.
How would you feel if that was YOUR reality?
Everyone deserves to have a place to go to after a long day.
Everyone deserves a place to build memories, a place to share a meal with the people you love.
When people are scared, they want to go home.
When people are lonely, they want to go home.
When people are sick, they want to go home.
Sometimes, we just want to go home.
A home is a place to spend days with the people you love. Each house is a welcoming structure, which holds the life of a family. It is the reason they can be, and are, who they are. Whether the home is grand or petite, a home is the place a person needs and deserves.
That’s what home means to me.
